Just relax and know that you’re okay right where you’re at. You’ve been through a lot of struggle in your life. It hasn’t been easy by no means. And some people who haven’t experienced what you have may think you’re taking too long to heal and overcome. Ignore that. Don’t allow someone else to make you feel pressured with some kind of time limit for healing. Everyone is different with how long healing takes. It can even take a lifetime for some people.
You simply cannot put a time limit on how long it takes for a person to heal from past wounds. There is no limit. You take just as long as you need. Whether it’s months, years, or a lifetime. The important thing to remember is that you strive every day to improve. Be honest with yourself of whether you are consciously putting forth the effort to overcome. Be careful that you’re not using “it takes time” as an excuse to stay in your comfort zone. If you sincerely know that you are actively working on it, relax and feel good about yourself. Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come. Be gentle yet firm with yourself.
